Four-star OL announcing between Kentucky and West Virginia tomorrow

@chris_mayo76

Who will land four-star offensive lineman Chris Mayo, Mark Stoops or Neal Brown? The 6’5″ 300 lbs. New Jersey native is considered the 14th best offensive guard in the 2020 class by Rivals, and tomorrow, will choose between Kentucky and West Virginia:

The timing doesn’t look great for the Cats. Earlier this week, Mayo visited West Virginia, whose staff also includes former Kentucky assistant Chad Scott, now the Mountaineers’ co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach:

Mayo visited Kentucky back in April, telling 247 Sports he enjoyed Keeneland and getting to know defensive coordinator Brad White:

“My relationship with Kentucky has definitely gotten better because my communication with the coaches has been great. I’ve gotten to know (Brad White) more on a more personal level. He is a really nice guy. He is really homey as a person. He knows how to make you feel welcome, which is really nice. He is the guy that offered me and it was a good time getting to know him more personally.”

Could this be what Vince Marrow was hinting at earlier this week?

We’ll find out tomorrow.

    It’s a business decision for these kids.
    If they want the Blue Bloods of College Football to notice they will commit to a school in the SEC to get Clemson and all the others to look at them.
    Simple, but this current system teaches them that a commitment isnt really a commitment. Wake UP NCAA

      Are you or have you even been married? How many girls did you date before you got married? How many of those dates turned into a committed monogamous relationship? The recruiting process is like hooking up. A verbal commitment is like “going steady” or boyfriend/girlfriend and signing the LOI is getting married. Most people have dozen/s of committed relationships before they tie the knot. Adjust your perspective.

    Having Kentucky coaches should be a deterrent for these kids if you recruit them right. Brown “I’m from Kentucky and know how it is, WV is a great place and you should followmy exampleand come here.” Stoops “Yeah he’s from Kentucky but you do know he also understood how great it was to stay in the state by both playing here and coaching our offense, maybe you can do exactly what he says and follow his bigger example, just the one he didn’t get paid for.”
