Four-Star Offensive Lineman Jeremy Flax Commits to Kentucky

Kentucky has added a a large new piece to the Big Blue Wall.

Two days after departing from an official visit in Lexington, four-star JUCO offensive lineman Jeremy Flax committed to Kentucky. Texas Tech and Auburn were once thought to be the leaders in Flax’s recruitment, but Mark Stoops’ staff pulled out all of the stops on Flax’s official visit to secure the commitment.

Originally from Steve Clinkscale’s recruiting territory in Dearborn Heights, Mi., Flax spent the last two years at Independence C.C. in Kansas, the same school where Jason Brown gained fame on Last Chance U. Flax will have three seasons of eligibility at Kentucky. Stoops and Clink pulled out all of the stops to secure the commitment from Flax.

One of the top five JUCO offensive linemen in all of the recruiting services, Flax is the second-ranked offensive tackle in the 247 Composite rankings and the No. 38 player overall. The 6’6″ 320-pounder earned First Team All-American honors from the National Junior College Athletic Association in 2019.

A player that absolutely manhandled opponents at Indy, Flax could work his way into the rotation on next year’s offensive line, whether at guard or tackle. Enjoy some of his best work.

The second four-star addition of the day gives John Schlarman five offensive linemen in the 2020 recruiting class. Ten of UK’s 18 commitments are four-star prospects or better in at least one recruiting service. Take a look at Kentucky’s top 25 class as we wait for Joel Williams’ announcement.

We are going to seriously compete moving forward. That isn’t to say we didn’t last season or this season once coaches were able to cobble together a plan, but we’re on a serious uphill trajectory.

To take that next step we have to start getting 5 stars it’s that simple.

Sure, stars mean nothing, that’s why Alabama and Clemson don’t go after 4 and 5 star recruits.

Don’t be an idiot, of course stars mean something. Obviously there are a shit ton of good 3 star athletes out there, but stars do count for something. Educate yourself.

This folks is how you build a long term team to have success. Every player from last years class got to red shirt and you add upon that the incoming talent. Say what you wish about the coaching staff but they are getting it done on the recruiting trail.

Really great to finally see the football team having some really good successful again.
Last years 10 win was the first 10 win since I think 77.
Although that run didn’t last for a long time, I loved many of those teams,Sonny Collins,Derrick Ramsey,Art Still….
Great recruiting and names we will all remember 1 day as I do those from older days. And its already started Benny Snell,Josh Allen….keep it up Stops,Marrow, and all the rest of the coaches, your doing great, and we truly appreciate all your hard work in BBN !
