Four-Star Offensive Lineman Decommits from Penn State Following Official Visit to UK

One of the nation’s top offensive linemen is reconsidering his college decision after spending the weekend at the University of Kentucky.

R.J. Adams withdrew his verbal pledge to Penn State shortly after he returned from an official visit in Lexington. A four-star prospect, Rivals ranks Adams as the No. 12 offensive guard in America. His prep career will conclude at the 2020 Under Armour All-American Game.

The Virginia native originally committed to Penn State in April. Kentucky defensive coordinator Brad White did his part to end that affair on the Wildcats’ behalf.

Adams was one of five four-star recruits that stayed in Lexington Sunday to spend time with the Wildcats. Even though Kentucky did not win, it appeared to make an impression on Adams. We’ll see if it had a similar effect on the other official visitors, Brian George, Tyler Baron, Michael Drennen II or Octavious Oxendine.

This kid is a freakin Bull Dozer. He looks like a man among boys already and won’t even be on a college campus until this time next year. Playing that is. Lol. If we get those Five kids to go with our other recruits! WOW. Fellas this is crazy right now. Lol. We still, as of today have anywhere between 6-9 more to get and they’ll all be some special players. It’s unbelievable!! It really is.

I also want to add, if there’s 11 better offensive LINEMAN better than him, they’re already wearing college jerseys. Haha. I’m not kidding you though, he a tank. I couldn’t imagine ten years ago a kid like this looking at Kentucky. Wow. Great Job Coaches.

Would like to have him, but always leery of guys who commit and still take trips. Don’t think he won’t lead us on and then jump ship right before signing.

He may or may not, do you know our current lowest rated recruit would have easily been our highest rated recruit just 8 years ago. That is why kids do change their mind, other big programs want them. In the past we were their best offer, kids choosing to de-commit is a great problem to have if you know anything about recruiting. Especially when the actual number of ones that do is low. Watch signing day, ou will see kids flip on THAT actual fay from teams like OSU, Bama etc.

Our staff can recruit talent, it’s just too bad our staff fails them during crunch time by handcuffing them on the field.
