Four-star CB Jay Ward picks LSU over Kentucky

Well, this one hurts. Four-star cornerback Jay Ward just committed to LSU over Kentucky, Texas A&M, and Florida State.

Ward actually committed to Kentucky last summer, but reopened his recruitment after going to an LSU home game in the fall. Ward told Rivals’ Chad Simmons he was planning on picking Kentucky yesterday, but had a last minute change of heart.

“I chose LSU,” said Ward. “It was them, Florida State and Kentucky. I told coach today. I was confused, I was torn and I just started thinking more about LSU late last night.”

Ouch. We’ll hear from Mark Stoops at his Signing Day press conference in about 25 minutes.

That stings a bit but hopefully we return the favor and flip WR D. Lee from LSU, still leaves a scholarship for Jammie Robinson as well.

At least we are in consideration I guess

    • Wrong sport bwise. I think most UK fans know we can’t afford flips in football like we can in bball.

That’s right Chris. Although I do know where he’s coming from and he’s right too. We
So have some FANS, that don’t know shiiit about football and will probably say it.

Anyway this one hurts worse because he wanted to come to Kentucky in his heart and this deadline made his decision today hard. LSU got in on him the last couple days and for kids now it seems like it ‘out of sight, out of mind ‘,! It sucks too because he would have a great shot at starting or at least playing early here.

Man we need to get a WR transfer or Juco, a big Ulgy OL and we’re fine. I love the route this team is taking and next year should be a top 15 class, and another successful season. Big time things going on in Lexington right now my brothers. We all need to Keep the faith in our staff and we’ll continue to rise from the ashes. Almost all the kids that had us in their top five and didn’t pick us, will one day soon look back and regret not coming here. I’m sure they will all do fine, but they will wonder what could’ve been after we make the playoffs next year. Maybe this year, but I’m saying 2020. We’ll end the season top ten this year though, we’ll between 5-10. I HAVE SPOKEN!!! hahahahaha I do believe what I said!! I just hope I’m right, or close to it anyway. If so, it will still be very special. Thanks

None of it hurts, but I wish Lee had chosen the Cats.

This one hurts the most as Lee and Robinson I did not expect to get for the last 2 weeks. Ward I thought we may have gotten him back on board. Oh well, sure the staff is still looking, we do have 2 Juco guys that were interested, and you never know what else may happen through transfers. Still think we are in good shape on D this year, just inexperienced which we would have been if he did come here.

    I can understand picking LSU.

I hope he understands I hope his team fails.

Could have been a star at UK, now you get to be just another fish in the pond.

If your good enough the pros will find you, no matter where you play.
