Former UK Recruit L’Christian "Blue" Smith is Back on the Market

One of UK’s top recruits in the 2018 recruiting class is looking for a new home.

L’Christian “Blue” Smith initially picked to attend Ohio State over Kentucky.  After one redshirt season in Columbus, the former four-star prospect is reportedly set to transfer at the end of the spring semester.

A 6’6″ outside receiver, Rivals ranked him as America’s No. 39 overall player in the 2018 recruiting class.  Hailing from Wayne High School in Dayton, Ohio, the Cats currently have another 6’6″ wide receiver from Wayne on the roster, Ahmad Wagner.  The two helped lead Wayne to the Ohio Division I state championship game in 2015, the state’s largest class for high school football.

Kentucky lost a few players off the roster and did not sign a complete recruiting class in February, leaving a few scholarships available for additions at the end of the spring semester.  Most believed UK would hit the grad transfer market to find a wide receiver or two. Now the Cats have another incredibly talented option, Blue Smith.

Would he be eligible immediately? Would be nice to have him

  2. Bobbum Man

Let’s get terry two 6’6 receivers… he can literally just lob it up

  3. Booher

So does this mean Dawson was right?

Huber Heights in Dayton lost in the championship both in 2014 and 2015. And Smith was class of 2018 so he would’ve been an 8th grader and a freshman those years, so I highly doubt he “led them” in anything, anywhere. Its exciting news to report but geeze at least bother doing some homework before you go spouting off false statements like that

Why don’t you bother doing the minimal amount of homework. He had 1300 yds and 17 touchdowns in ‘15…moron

    2. Nickerbocker05

Still tho… did he LEAD the team with that stat? Learn to read. Moron.

Not sure who you’re talking to nickerbokcker, but it says they led them to the championship game, not stats, bigcat.

If we don’t get a transfer till 10 years from now Matt will say that was the one he was talking about.

2 6’6 outside receivers and some legit speed in the slot would be a matchup nightmare.

Stocking up for another 10 win season this year. We better pay Stoops now before Florida State comes after him.

Would love to have him, but it would seem he’d have to sit out a year.

If he really does intend on transferring then I think he would be wise to attend the Spring game for some of the schools he’s interested in. That way he can see who is the number one QB at the end of spring camp and if the team really looks to use the passing game as part of the offense or only when they have to pass i.e. 2nd & 20, 3rd & 12 etc.

If we do see him a the stadium for the Spring game then I personally think the Cats have a good chance of getting him.
