Former Kentucky commit DJ Jeffries sets visits

Kelly Kline | Under Armour

Kelly Kline | Under Armour

DJ Jeffries decommitted from Kentucky last week; even though Memphis is the heavy favorite for his services, he’s going to visit three other schools, all in the SEC. According to Jonah Jordan, Jeffries will visit Ole Miss September 14-16, Mississippi State September 28-29, and Alabama October 12-14. He’s also planning a visit to Memphis, but hasn’t set a date yet.

In case you’ve been in a hole the last week, Jeffries cut ties with Kentucky on July 30, reportedly due to concerns the staff wasn’t making him a priority. We’ve gone in depth about the decommitment since then, but if you need to catch up, I suggest you read TJ’s Monday Insider Notes and the latest Hardly Committed podcast:

If you believe Jeffries ends up anywhere other than Memphis, I’ve got some oceanfront property in Arizona to sell you.

He and his dad want to be wooed and pampered a few more times before they commit to Memphis.

I have heard a few different stories of him shaking hands, taking pics and signing autos with UK fans back in the spring and was telling them that he couldn’t wait to get to Lexington. I just get the feeling Penny told his dad that we were recruiting over him and got the ball rolling. Good luck to the kid. I think he’s just along for the ride. Daddy’s pulling the strings.

Matt Jones himself said that smart money is on Memphis, but there is a chance that he ends up elsewhere. It’s not a done deal.

It’s a done deal. Matt can be wrong.

Because it’s news you dimwits. Not everybody wants to read the same Bahamas story 40 times a day. they have other stuff they can and want to cover. If you think not a single person wants to read this, then stop clicking on the articles and stop commenting. Because I can tell you one thing for sure, the more traffic it gets, the more articles they are going to write. So you’re only shooting yourselves in the foot.

Yup, correct. And we get to share or opinions too. Welcome to freedom of speech.

So, following your own advice, you shouldn’t click on the same Bahamas story multiple times a day. Also, it shouldn’t be too difficult to keep scrolling when several people are saying they don’t want to hear about DJ Jeffries anymore.

for someone who thinks maybe it’s time to let it go, you sure do keep coming back and giving more clicks. you’re really hurting your chances of anyone “letting it go”

I wish the kid nothing, but the best. I was happy UK had him, because I thought of him as a 4 year player that was a good fit for the college game. Really hope he doesnt attend another school in the SEC for that reason. Cal would demolish him everytime they went against UK. It would make me feel really bad for his dad at those games.
