In an article posted by NBC Sports Pro Football Talk, former Wildcats turned Tennessee Titans, Wesley Woodyard and Avery Williamson discussed their disdain for certain post-touchdown celebrations. The culprit? Panthers quarterback, Cam Newton.
Last season in a Panthers vs. Titans matchup, Woodyard and Williamson confronted Newton in the end zone following a Carolina touchdown. The altercation didn’t escalate past words, with Newton claiming teams that don’t want him to dance shouldn’t let him score. But the two Tennessee linebackers made it clear Newton wouldn’t have much to celebrate this season.
“[Newton] is a crowd-pleaser,” Woodyard said, via the Tennessean. “That’s what Cam does. That’s why he’s one of the faces of the NFL. We welcome that, just not on our territory. But that was last year. We look forward to this year.”
Today at 3:00 p.m. the Tennessee Titans take on the Carolina Panthers in a preseason battle. Be sure to tune in and watch our former Cats fight to keep Cam (and his dabbing) out of the end zone.

He didn’t dance in the Super Bowl;……he dropped the ball on the ground and ran the other way.
