So the baseball coach resigns? Anyone have any ideas on the new coach they would like to see?

With what is going on in football and Hoops, Mitch needs a big hire. I hope he does not hire another Stoops. SEC baseball is just as brutal as SEC Football. No more hires of inexperienced coaches to run or build programs. Football has been a fail, this hire need not.

The SEC is brutal in pretty much every sport. Go look at the top 25 in any sport (other than men’s basketball) and there are usually 5-8 SEC teams in the top 25 in both men’s and women’s sports. The SEC is the toughest conference across the board.

I’m ba-ack! Took a day off from work yesterday for my daughter’s birthday and middle school graduation. Kind of melancholy today looking back at how the years have flown by. Damn I’m getting old!

Unfortunate news with the baseball team. Lot’s of bad news with UK sports lately – UK women’s hoops imploding, baseball team falling off the cliff, and football team ended season on a whimper. UK men’s team also ended on a disappointing note. Hoping for some better news on the horizon.

I’ve felt pretty much the same way all summer. it’s like bad news after bad news.It seems like the only good news we’ve gotten since we beat duke i nthe fall has been basketball recruiting

Allow me to cheer you up then! Our men’s golf team just finished 13th at the NCAA’s (our best finish ever, so trending up!), we also had 23 track & field athletes qualify for the NCAA Championship Finals. Kendra Harrison just broke the American Record in the 100 hurdles, and will compete at the upcoming US Olympic Trials! I look forward to cheering her on in the Olympics this summer.

Shelby County native Jack Green played college football at Tulane and West Point (All American 1945). He was close friends with Dwight Eisenhower and Vince Lombardi. Green coached football at West Point, Tulane, Florida (both OC and DC), Vanderbilt (HC), Kansas, and Baylor. Also inducted in College Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1989.

Question: What KY native has a better football career than Jack Green?

I hear ksr talk about beating Florida and Georgia. KY opens with Southern Miss which won their division in C-USA. If KY loses that game, the Stoops era is over.

Don”t know if it will be “over” over, but there will definitely be a lot of fans jumping off the bandwagon.

Zach, Matt gave you very little good advice. Get a job, pay your way & stay out of debt. Avoid borrowing anything from anybody, but Yes, do learn to clean up after yourself and do your own laundry. The liberal idea of “you’re just going to waste money, so ask for more” is a lie. If you learn to live within your means now, life will be much more successful for you. Good Luck & Go for it!

Senior year of college as the best year of your life? Not for me, although it was fun. I was on college internship in Baton Rouge, LA, working for Exxon. Got to experience living on my own in another city basically for free (actually got paid well for it!) Got prime seats for the SEC Championship game to watch Winston Bennett take on Willie Anderson.

Still, best years of my life were late-20’s. Had a good paying job, my own house, and spending money for some toys, and compared to my life now chasing kids around, all the time int he world!

Kentucky played the 3:30 CBS game 2 years ago in Commonwealth Stadium against Mississippi State when they were ranked number 1. Patrick Towles had a big game. Backwards hat guy designed the worst on-side kick attempt in football history!

Jeez awaiting moderation, what a crock. What’s happened to ukbbupdate, haven’t seen him on in a while going after catspaws and the other trolls or in some instances true cat fans.
