You guys may have talked about this yesterday. Didn’t Matt & others spend years agreeing with Bilas that student athletes should have the same freedom to move around that the coaches do? Now that the NCAA is considering changing the hypocrisy of the current rule, they act like it’s crazy.

p.s. I had a terrible time trying to remember how to spell hypocrisy.

I have the same problem with hypocrisy; but, I just call Coach K…it’s his middle name.

I think you are correct, Real. But facts are frowned upon here.

You are correct. They did used to support this.

I personally still do. If coaches, administrators, and regular students can move around freely without penalty, then why can’t student athletes? They are already exploited by the NCAA and the schools for huge amounts of money. I also hate that coaches can block players from transferring certain places. I respect Cal even more because he doesn’t do this.

Yes! Coaches having the authority to block a player from going where they want to be is the worst part of the whole thing.

      10:56 am September 7, 2017 Permalink

Cal calls other coaches where his players want to transfer and puts in a good word for them. Then he’ll call and check up on them to see how they’re doing after they’ve transferred. Cal is the best.

Ike gave us quite a bit more than “a little rain” when it moved through – although I think it combined with another low pressure system and re-strengthened.

As long as we’re winning, there is no justification for qb controversy. Stay with what’s working.

Exactly. As my grandfather used to say, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Was it the QB’S fault in the second half last Sat that we couldn’t move the ball or did we go to Snell to often?

      10:39 am September 7, 2017 Permalink

It was all on the OL Sat, the QB needs time and even Benny needs a hole; hopefully they will step up.

Losing Toth to graduation and Moiser to injury hurt. The O-Line was a bit discombobulated on Saturday, but I think they’ll pull it together because there’s a lot of talent there. I’m just going to chalk it up to first game jitters.

RUNNINGGUNNIN.454 , Was the OL all that bad and is it something that you are worried about going foward. I could not watch the game is why i ‘m asking.

    • runningunnin.454
      10:46 am September 7, 2017 Permalink

Not worried about it, there were guys getting crossed up and missing assignments; that can happen in the first game of the year. It’s something the coaches can fix.

    • ClutchCargo
      11:50 am September 7, 2017 Permalink

I’m hoping there is not too much shuffling of OL positions going forward. It’s nice to have flexibility, but it would seem to undermine having a cohesive unit if used to much. And I know some of that was due to guys having to come out of the game, so I think the coaches will figure it out.

Bunchy’s first time at center probably didn’t go how they would have liked, and he’ll never be Toth, but I think he and all of them will shake it off and do the work to improve.

Toth was the cornerstone of our O-Line for 3 years. I really hope he makes an NFL team. He’s too good not to.

I pretty much only eat White Castle after I’ve been out partying and it’s after 2:00am. But it’s soooo good then. I only hate myself a little the next day…

The White Castle Slider name did not originally refer to size, but how easily the greasy mini-burgers slid down (and sometimes back out the other end).

Panera’s overpriced and goes overboard with the ingredients. There’s always one element that overpowers the rest of the sandwich.
