Florida refuses to use Vanderbilt’s locker room

SEC coaches have complained loudly that it’s impossible to follow some COVID-19 protocols in the cramped quarters of visiting team locker rooms. Instead of voicing his grievances, Dan Mullen took action.

The Florida football team has not set a foot inside the ancient locker rooms at Vanderbilt Stadium. The Gators dressed for the game at the team hotel. They arrived to the stadium later than normal and simply put on their cleats once they made it to the field.

The pregame routine was slightly different, yet it did not produce visual comedy like what we saw at halftime. The players huddled under the bleachers, not in a socially distant manner, while receiving instructions from the coaches. As with most things involving Vanderbilt football, halftime felt more like a high school football game than an SEC football game.

It wasn’t the most ridiculous thing that happened in college football today. Watch Nebraska fall for Illinois’ fake punt, the most bizarre in the history of college football.

The locker room may be cramped, but what was Vandy to do? Build a new stadium?

The fake punt by Illinois is hilarious. For some reason the punter does a stutter step at the 27 with no one within 10 yards of him, then he tops that with a “juke” move at the 35 with no one within 25 yards of him. LOL, you can tell he was scared to death, and has never ran the ball in his life.
