Five-star football prospect sets decision date and COULD IT BE KENTUCKY???

@AllAmerican52JR

@AllAmerican52JR

Justin Rogers is one of the best high school football players in America. Rivals.com ranks him as the tenth-best prospect in the entire recruiting class and the No. 1 offensive guard. Numero uno at the guard position. He’s the type of player that wouldn’t even look Kentucky’s direction in the past, but times have changed and Kentucky is not only in the mix, it might be the pick. Dead serious.

Now Rogers is all set to announce his decision on Monday, May 20, per a new report from recruiting guru Josh Helmholdt. Helmholdt likes Kentucky’s chances; he wrote, “If the buzz about Kentucky’s momentum is legitimate, then the Wildcats are the leaders in the clubhouse going into the final days of this recruitment.” Kentucky also has the last four picks in Rogers’ Crystal Ball predictions.

Rogers is a former high school teammate of current UK up-and-comer Marquan McCall, and he has been close with UK’s coaching staff since his freshman season at Oak Park HS in Michigan. He’s made several trips to Lexington, most recently for an official visit the weekend of April 26, and the Cats are in great standing in the days ahead of his announcement.

However, Rogers still has an official visit to Georgia set for May 17, only a couple days before he decides. Let’s hope he has a miserable time in Athens.

      This is dumb. More goes into a players decision than who beat who.

    If the kid really is that good those recruiting him won’t give up until he signs in December. Not a knock on the kid. Just the reality of big time college football.

    Ukinin , while I do see your side with certain recruits , I feel that this kid is kind of a true to his word type of kid . I really hope this happens . You can literally feel the recruiting momentum for UK football. When one person commits , and then you see another schedule an announcement, it’s a good feeling . Prettt much a domino effect. It’s why commitments come in bunches

    The traditional football powers never give up on the higher ranked kids until they are signed. That is how they remain a traditional power. Just sayin !

    It’s cool that we could get a commitment from a guy like this but until he signs nothing is done. You know a guy like this will have some kind of cash thrown his way to go elsewhere! Still cool though.

    McCall could be the key. He trusted the staff enough to come here and switch, sort of, to DL and seems to be headed to an NFL career at that position. He needs to be in the ear, am sure he is, of this guy daily saying he can do the same thing on the OL side of the ball. With the RB’s we have, the QB’s we have and have coming I can now see high level OL wanting to come here. I know we have them already in Young, Jackson, Kinnard but even none of them were rated close to this guy. Just the fact we are in this position is incredible, even if it is not this guy we will soon get a few top 10 players.
