Five-star Arizona commit to play overseas instead

Terrance Ferguson, a five-star guard in the 2016 class, has decided to play overseas instead of honoring his commitment to Arizona. The second-ranked shooting guard pledged his commitment to Sean Miller and the Wildcats back in April, but will pursue a career overseas over enrolling in college.

The reason behind the sudden change of heart may be because of potential eligibility concerns. Ferguson is from Prime Prep Academy, the same school that produced Emmanuel Mudiay, who also took the overseas route.

For Arizona, it’s not the first time a prized commit has left for overseas. Brandon Jennings bolted for Italy in 2008 before becoming a top ten pick in the draft one year later.

Reports say Ferguson is likely headed for Australia.

Most, if not all, of the guys that did this did not “decide” to make this move. They were not going to be eligible in college because of grades.
