It was a tale of two halves for the No. 13 Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball team on Sunday afternoon as the Florida Gators earned an upset win in Memorial Coliseum by a final score of 70-62.

A brilliant first-half that saw the ‘Cats take a 10-point lead into the intermission was erased by an explosive fourth-quarter run from the Florida Gators that pushed them past Kentucky, who were without Rhyne Howard for the second consecutive game.

It was Kentucky’s first loss in Memorial Coliseum all season.

Chasity Patterson led the way for UK, pouring in a new career-high of 25 points on 9-19 shooting from the floor to go along with four steals. Jaida Roper was the only other Wildcat to finish in double-figures with 15 points and five rebounds on a 5-15 shooting clip.

Kentucky maintained a 29-19 halftime advantage before falling apart in the fourth quarter. Florida rattled off a 25-5 run in the final seven minutes of the game to earn a massive upset victory.

The ‘Cats turned the ball over 14 times and shot under 38 percent from the floor. They left 12 points at the free-throw line and were outrebounded by 18. Kentucky shot a season-low 15 percent (3-20) from beyond the arc. Add it all up and we have a disappointing eight-point loss.

While you wait for the full game recap, run your eyes over the full box score.
