FAIL: Watch Bryce Harper’s poor attempt at a helmet throw

Memorial Day baseball had some fireworks in the Nationals/Giants game when NL MVP candidate Bryce Harper charged the mound after he was hit by a pitch from reliever Hunter Strickland in the eighth inning.

The fight was funny in itself, but Harper’s failed attempt at a helmet chuck stole the show:

To make matters worse for Harper, he caught a pretty good punch to the face without landing any shots of his own.

Your winner by a unanimous decision is Hunter Strickland.

Not sure which fight you watched, but Harper nailed him pretty good. In fact, Strickland appeared to be going down when everyone else showed up. Well…everyone other than buster posey who was probably pretty happy seeing Strickland get punched in the face.

That punch from Harper barely connected, Strickland for sure hit a more solid punch.

Geez Drew…Think you could have been a Russian Olympics boxing judge back in the day. Harper for sure can’t throw a helmet and Strickland did get one punch in but Harper nailed him flush after that. Hardly a Strickland win…. 🙂

More players need to be rushing the pitchers and they pull that chicken crap. Might change the dynamic.

Or just let the bat slip out of hand in the right direction.

Is it for sure he was trying to throw his helmet at him? When I first saw the video I thought it looked like he was just throwing it in anger more than anything, and to get it out of his hands before duking it out.

I guess it’s possible he was attempting some kind of fake out throw to get Strickland off guard, but that seems unlikely.
