With the third pick to the Dallas Wings in the 2017 WNBA Draft, power forward Evelyn Akhator became the highest draft pick in school history.
Originally projected to be picked in the second round, Akhator surpassed A’dia Mathis’ previous mark at No. 10. A Junior College National Player of the Year before she came to Kentucky, the Nigerian-born baller posted 18 double-doubles in her final season. In just two seasons, she’s third in school history in double-doubles.
