Evan Daniels changes prediction for James Wiseman

USA Basketball

USA Basketball

In the latest bad sign for Kentucky’s chances with James Wiseman, Evan Daniels just changed his pick. After sticking by his prediction of Kentucky for months, the recruiting guru now believes the Memphis Tigers will land the No. 1 recruit in the 2019 class.

Ugh. We’ll know for sure tomorrow at noon on SportsCenter.

I just heard a big rumor in Memphis that Wiseman is transferring out of Memphis to play high school basketball. If true, could be a game changer.

Close friend to Penny. But hell
Could be rumor. For the first time in awhile I think we have a chance.

Big if true. Really hope it is.

Oh well. Haha. You ppl kill me. Cant you see this is just another miss for Cal and he is on the downward trajectory for recruiting and has been at coaching. We cant even sustain top 10 teams anymore.

Its money. He is defintely getting paid. Penny alone doesnt bring in a recruit.

My goodness you’re manic. Life must be exhausting! That’s a terrible (and childish) accusation to hurl at someone’s character, but it fits with your subsequent overreaction as well.

    • 4everUKblue
      5:27 pm November 19, 2018 Permalink

Open you eyes Timbo, max is most likely right, now that we’ve all seen there are no consequences for paying players.

    • timbo
      8:35 am November 20, 2018 Permalink

Well “most likely right” gives you the freedom to say what you want about a situation and people you don’t know I suppose? That’s awful, and says more about your character than the people you don’t know who are the targets of your baseless accusations. By the way, your “most likely” is like, your opinion man, and has no basis in reality, fact, or evidence.

Or it could be the long relationship Penny has had with him and his family. Idiots, act like Cal has never done wrong. Every school he left has had sanctions, I know he knew nothing about it…..wink wink…..

Cal has got to figure something out because every year it gets worse for us in the sense we arent the top dogs. Cals system only works if u have ultra talented guys.

He somehow took one player (Camby) and a bunch of scrubs to a FF at UMass

    • CatsandPats
      6:02 pm November 19, 2018 Permalink

Don’t forget Nick he also had 2 really good guards to go along with Camby. Edgar Padilla and Carmelo Travieso if memory serves me right.

    • mashburnfan1
      6:18 pm November 19, 2018 Permalink

yep, not scrubs but very good college players. That is the key to success. A great FR or 2 is fine but got to have very good experienced players with them. Just look, his system has never worked, only title he had 2 NBA players that returned as Soph {Jones and Lamb} and another that was a SR {Miller}. Add that to the great AD and you get titles. But he just wants to brag about NBA players, ready or not, that ot drafted. No talk of all the bust players he had, guys who would have been top picks from High School that came here and left to another team or to test the NBA and are low man on an NBA roster or not in the NBA. Been a bunch of those guys as well.

It’s penny. If the coach you loved coached the town where you wanted to play, it’s a no brainer.

    • 4everUKblue

How is it a no brainer to play for a coach with no track record?

    • mashburnfan1
      6:19 pm November 19, 2018 Permalink

I think Camby did the same thing at UMass. Cal was not a known coach. Guess he paid him by your logic.

Simple. Top recruits have figured out Cal and they don’t want to play for a coach that can’t seem to teach during practice but thinks screaming his lungs out during every game is teaching

Boy, that’s a REAL tough prediction to make. This guy Daniel’s must be a recruiting GENIUS!!!

I can’t blame him. He’s gonna get drafted whether he comes to UK or go to Memphis, he gets to be the hometown hero next to his longtime coach. So what if he won’t make the tournament? Fultz and Simmons both went #1 without getting to the post-season.

Lol . The best thing for everybody to do is to just get over this … I no longer care about stuff I cannot control & you shouldn’t either. There , now enjoy your lives better

The worst part of the is all the obnoxious Memphis fans who will come out of the woodworks to boast and claim their relevancy.

    • mashburnfan1
      6:24 pm November 19, 2018 Permalink

They, and most of college basketball to include Ohio U, Northern Ky, VMI, St Louis, Bucknell etc, only have 1 less title than Cal and all his great NBA talent has in the last 20 years. And I bet the excitement in Memphis will be greater next year than it is at Rupp as we see 5-6 more new guys that are probably overrated or feel they have to leave after one year.

Don’t know if we can get Orlando back or nit since he cheated at South FL, but haven’t had a real elite since he left. If Cal’ s coaching can’t win it with team of Wall, Boogie, Bledsoe, and Wiggins, with the talent he is getting now 1, and his caching ability #9 is a distant reality. I quit drinking a whIle back.

So called fans, Cal can’t teach during practice. Papaw that’s one of the dumbest statements I’ve ever heard. We have fans that are brain dead and I wished they were not fans.

Cal’s recruiting as of late has looked and felt a lot like Tubby’s recruiting.

  19. KYjellyRoll

He can go on to Memphis. Uk isn’t for everybody. If he can’t commit to practicing against good players and then sharing minutes, he doesn’t need to be here anyways. If he chooses uk, then that’s great. If he chooses elsewhere, he just wants to be the Man. Little does he know he could be the Man at uk with a title to match. Whatever

Although we continue to recruit good players we haven’t signed the top studs ever since Antigua left. Cal needs to add someone who can recruit like that to the staff.

You can bring in recruiters, but it won’t change. It’s Cal.
Calipari doesn’t allow the 5 stars enough freedom on the court.
