Evan Daniels breaks down Nick Richards’ game

Kentucky Sports Radio dialed up Scout.com’s Evan Daniels on the morning show to preview the big announcements from three of John Calipari’s top targets today. Evan, like everyone else, predicted Nick Richards and P.J. Washington will commit to Kentucky, while John Petty will shun Lexington to stay home in Alabama.

Here’s what Daniels had to say about Richards, who is set to commit within the hour:

“Nick Richards, he is our No. 17 overall player. Pushing seven feet tall; big, strong, physical kid. I think he’s ahead of the game defensively, really good rebounder and rim protector, averaged almost 10 rebounds and two blocks a game in the EYBL, which is the best AAU league.

A guy he compares with? I don’t want to say Willie, but he’s more of a defensive-type guy than he is offense right now.”

Evan also discussed Washington, Lonnie Walker, Quade Green, Shai Alexander and more.

Listen to Evan’s entire interview toward the end of the first hour of the show here.

He has Davis’ eyebrows and Noel’s flattop so that has to be a good sign.

I can venture to say that if Petty an offer from Cal, that he should take on the best opportunity to play against top talent EVERY day. I’m not going to understand taking Bama, but its not for everyone.

I’m really confused by the number of top 10 talent that we even have a shot at this year. Seems like we may get no one in the top ten which is very surprising! No one wants to follow in the footsteps of Davis, Wall, Cousins, Towns, Noel, Knight, Jones, MKG, Randle, Lyles….etc
