Eric C. Conn says he made it out of the country

Where in the world is Eric C. Conn? Apparently, he’s outside of the United States. The infamous Eastern Kentucky disability lawyer told the Herald-Leader in a series of emails over the weekend that he fled the country using a fake passport on June 3, one day after cutting off his ankle monitor. Conn says he’s now in a country that does not have an agreement to extradite people wanted for crimes in the US, and actually has a job, thanks to someone who helped him escape the country.

The FBI is still offering $20,000 for information leading to Conn’s arrest, and, as of a week ago, still believed he was in the country. In March, Conn pleaded guilty to submitting false medical information in his clients’ cases and bribing federal judges. He was indicted and faced up to 12 years in prison, but decided to take fate into his own hands while awaiting sentencing on home detention at his Pikeville home.

“Don’t forget, thanks to my enforced ‘sabbatical’ at home, I now speak three languages,” Conn said in the email to the Herald-Leader.

Conn said he was able to board a commercial flight without any significant problems, buying his ticket using a prepaid credit card and buying a separate ticket at JFK airport in New York to throw authorities off the scent.

“If my leaving would have had more of a spy-like characteristic to it, I would be the first to say so. It would certainly make for a better story,” he said.

My question to you: Will Conn ever be caught? If so, when?

These Conn emails have hoax written all over them. This is the Kentucky equivalent of the so-called Hitler Diaries.

Does pig Latin count as one of the 3 languages he knows?

If it isn’t Conn, it is someone close to him. They asked for his SS# and asked a bunch of personal questions that the person emailing was able to correctly answer. Do I think he’s out of the country? No. No way he got on any flight manifest without Feds grounding that flight. Like his advertising slogan used to be, I honestly believe he never left.

Do you seriously think that it would be difficult to get out of this country from any international airport? Fake passport, ID, use a prepaid credit card, and you’re gone.

Since it wasn’t a violent crime, I hope he gets away with it.

You do know that two people have committed suicide due to the financial mess he left them in, right?

If he was Danny Ocean and robbed a casino, maybe I’d get your comment. He took you, me, and the rest of us (presumably) law-abiding taxpayers for about a half BILLION $$’s. On the contrary, I hope he is sipping a Mai Tai on a tropical beach when a Blackhawk chopper lands and hauls him away in chains.

I hope he gets caught and goes to prison but I don’t think the man is responsible for someone committing suicide. Lots of people have been in financial distress for many reasons, some similar to this, and they didn’t commit suicide. That’s on the person who committed the act. Unless, like the teenager convicted a couple weeks ago, he as on the phone telling the people to do it after they changed their minds.

He could easily have flown out of the country, maybe not commercial, but he could’ve gotten out assuming he has plenty of cash. This is really interesting stuff.

I heard that if is caught and convicted, he’s going to go the Bradley Manning route and become transgender. His new name will be Ima Conn.

No, I would assume that he just loves half of them. The other side is the personification of evil. Even though they are all the same. That is the simpleton approach that 90% of the American public takes to politics these days, unfortunately.

Excuse me which side is evil? The ones who drain the well dry or the opposite side? Lol

Not sure which one his referencing, but facts show that the Red States are the ones “draining the well dry”.

He is certainly still in Eastern Ky. All he would have to do is pull a couple teeth, not bathe for a week and light a cig and he would fit right in.

Let’s see, a guy who is being tried for lying, bribery, and many other unscrupulous acts wants us to believe he got out of the country and then decided to tell everyone he got out of the country and how he accomplished that. I’m calling BS, and I’m nowhere near as smart as the guys in the FBI who will be chasing him down. I hope he is held accountable for everything he’s done.

To a guy from Eastern Ky, getting “out of the country” means going to Hazard.

he’ll never be caught,… stole $500 plus million, bribed judges etc… only got 12 years. If he was African American and stole $5000 he woulda got 20 years. white collar crime committed by whites is a whole new world of justice. Just sayin as a 56 year old white guy myself.
