Ending the One and Done Reaches a Road Block

The downfall of the one and done rule appears to have been greatly exaggerated.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports talks to eliminate the NBA’s age restriction have stalled. Commissioner Adam Silver and the NBPA have reached an impasse on two issues.

Commissioner Adam Silver is pressing NBPA executive director Michele Roberts to require that player agents furnish all teams with medical information on prospective draft prospects, league sources said. The league also wants to mandate players attendance and some level of participation in the pre-draft combine, sources said.

The plan has not changed. The NBA still hopes to lift the age restriction and eliminate the one and done rule by the 2022 draft.  These are the final two hurdles standing in the way.
