Eastern Kentucky company Bit Source featured on NBC last night

Last night was the second episode of “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly,” NBC’s new weekly news show, and one of the main stories featured Bit Source, a software development company co-founded by Rusty Justice, a former coal miner turned entrepreneur. Justice started Bit Source a few years ago as a way to put former coal miners to work, one of several startups popping up across Eastern Kentucky to help ease unemployment. Coal miners turned coders is a pretty intriguing lede, so “Sunday Night” sent a correspondent to Pikeville to check it out:

While there, the crew also toured Hillbilly Days, the quintessential Eastern Kentucky festival:

Sadly, it doesn’t look like they captured any Kentucky players signing autographs.

    This is the answer. Not more coal mines. Good for him and I hope he inspires more from the region to start something up.
