Kentucky has developed a pretty interesting trend when it comes to the analysis of Google Trend data. You see, each year real estate website Estately compiles a list of search terms that are unique to each state and Kentucky always seems to be all over the board. In 2013 the Commonwealth was unique in it’s searches for bowling, Creed (band) and of course, Demonic Possession. Last year the Bluegrass State responded to the ice bucket challenge by googling “What is A.L.S.?” and we found the answer to the age old question “Betty White Dead?”.
So what would Kentucky’s most unique search items be for 2015? Well, if you had your money on the American Dream Dusty Rhodes then come cash in your ticket.
Kentucky’s top searches for 2015 were American Pharaoh, Dusty Rhodes, Rand Paul, and Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis with Rhodes being most unique to the state. How about the rest of the SEC? Florida, Tennessee, and Missouri all were unique in their searches in relation to gun control. Mississippi was sweating it out over the Ashley Madison leak. While Georgia worked out their Whip and Nae Nae. You can learn a lot about what matters to each state by what they google and see patterns within certain regions. The 11 nations of America seems to hold true.
On To Ohio State
Kentucky took care of business last night against Arizona State and now have a bye week before heading to Brooklyn to take on the Buckeyes. With the semester coming to and this week, the Cats are just 5 days away from this year’s edition of Camp Cal. Since there is no class beginning next week the team will be able to practice twice per day and work out the knots found during the first stretch of the year. Traditionally this period of the year has been the time that has propelled the team to another level and really pays dividends out in March. But before that can being they’ll need to be ready for Ohio State.
Not that the Cats will need to be ready for a juggernaut in OSU. The Buckeyes are 4-5 this season with losses to UT-Arlington, Louisiana Tech, and Memphis. They rank in the bottom half of all teams in scoring, rebounds, and assists. The CBS Sports classic is shaping up to be a Christmas feast for the Big Blue Nation.
Tai Wynyard Arrives This Week
The 17 year old New Zealander is expected to arrive on campus sometime this week and would be eligible to play against the Buckeyes. However, it is extremely unlikely we see the freshman in the game and potentially any game this season. Tai’s presence will be most felt in practice and Camp Cal as his size and weight will be used to bang against Skal, Marcus, and Isaac. Beyond that, Tai remains an international man of mystery.
