Duke’s Wendell Carter cleared of any wrongdoing by Duke

Duke’s Wendell Carter didn’t do anything wrong, according to Duke.

Duke conducted its own investigation into its own player and determined there was no funny business going on. Nothing to see here, they say.

Read the full release on the internal review, which I’m sure was very thorough:

“A Duke student-athlete was identified in a Yahoo! Sports report this morning about men’s college basketball. Duke immediately reviewed the matter and, based on the available information, determined there are no eligibility issues related to today’s report. Duke has already contacted the NCAA and will continue to work collaboratively with the NCAA and the Atlantic Coast Conference. Duke has an uncompromising commitment to compliance in athletics. That has not, and will not, change.”

Welp, I guess that settles that.

(On a serious note with Duke hating aside: It was BS for Yahoo to include Carter in its report to get headlines without any evidence. Same goes for Knox and the other names who didn’t receive money.)

Why isn’t the UK Athletics Dept saying the same thing about Knox right now?

      4:10 pm February 23, 2018 Permalink

Maybe because they are investigating it and haven’t made their findings public yet…crazy huh.

That was my initial thought as well. Maybe UK wants to be completely thorough with their investigation. We do have Sandy Bell..

Maybe Cal doesn’t have pictures of Emmert doing farm animals like Coach K apparently does.

Code has experience with shredding documents and deleting texts. Did you help Pitino and Jurich with their cover up? probably explains why they got caught.

Wouldn’t matter if a Duke player was walking around wearing $10,000 worth of jewelry..now would it?

Actually Duke saying that “Duke has an uncompromising commitment to compliance in athletics” is the joke.

What they are really saying is “We have duffel bags full of cash, and a 400 year old vampire for a coach who has stolen Emmert’s soul, so you can’t touch us.”

Same situation as Knox- They shouldn’t even publish these kids who “may have met or had a meal with”. Really? Nothing to see here. Move on.

Pat Forde was feeling sorry for his buddy Ricky P and had to try and come up with something. You know they both are home massaging each other right now.

Yes…the Yahoo report without appropriate context is just dripping with integrity in journalism – thanks to those stalwarts of the truth, Pat Forde and Pete Thamel.

    My hopes:
    1. Knox- How do you prove you paid for someone’s meal. Unless there are pictures or something that puts you at that location at that exact time (security cameras?, multiple eye witnesses, etc.) good luck proving it. The balance sheet alone to me, is he said she said.
    2. BAM- As speculated, that agency gave $ to someone attempted to sway BAM. BAM didn’t take the bait and they wrote “bad loan”.
    3. Nerlens received a small loan after declaring before having contract $.
I guess we will see. Just trying to be optimistic lol.

This news broke at 7 am.
At 7:15, Duke put out a statement saying “After an exhaustive and thorough investigation into this matter, we have determined there are no eligibility issues, and have cleared our student athlete with both the FBI and the NCAA”

    • 4everUKblue

Not a god of any kind IMO but seems that’s how the rest of the basketball world sees him. To me he has zero integrity.

At least there’s a chance that guys like Carter and Knox had a minor violation with a meal. I don’t get mentioning Noel when I believe the time table for his supposed loan was after he was a professional. Once you sign with an agent, what you do has nothing to do with your school.

Duke could do a satanic ritualistic murder during halftime while paying all there players cash in Front of Emmerts nose.

If C. M. can talk to the powers that be,tell them in detail how he got paid 6 figures while at Dook for ONE year, then nothing will ever happen. The team could rob a bank, and K being the get away driver, they still would be found innocent.Money flowed like a river into Westwood and nothing happened. .Good luck getting Duke.
