Kentucky Sports Radio

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Duke is working on a “massive” package deal and I don’t like it. Not one bit.

You’ve heard the reports that Jayson Tatum and Harry Giles, the top two players in the ESPN100, could possibly go to Duke together.

Now Wendell Carter Jr., one of the top players in the 2017 class, is saying there’s another package deal in the works in 2017 that could send as many as four elite prospects to Duke.

Carter Jr. (No. 4 overall player) and Gary Trent Jr. (No. 1 overall player) have discussed attending Duke together in 2017. Trae Young (No. 22 overall player) and Michael Porter Jr. (No. 2 overall player) have also discussed teaming up with the Blue Devils. Together, the four would make one ridiculous group of fresh talent for Mike Kryskyyzkskeslisi.

“I always joke with them, talking about we could all be a good package deal going there,” Carter Jr. told ZagsBlog. “If the cards play that good, I would be real happy.”

Coach K has really stepped up his recruiting game lately and it appears Duke has seized all momentum for the next two classes. Luke Winn of Sports Illustrated said Tatum and Giles will make the best package deal of all time if they follow through with their plans to play together. Then if Krysweksfrski can land four more from the next class, including three of the top four players in America, good grief.

Duke is killing it right now.

And that doesn’t sit well with me.

Our failure to win the title this year will hurt in more ways than one. Duke and K are back on top of the mountain and might run off 2 or 3 in a row. As the world continues to turn.

You knew after winning the title with three “one-and done’s” that Duke had changed recruiting course. Seems to have taken hold. Now let’s see how Cal responds. He set the table for the new direction and was magnificent for three or four years. Now he has competition and has to readjust and continue to get top recruits.

Did you see Harry Giles’ Tweet today? If not, in so many words it reads, “I DID NOT commit to Duke, the people that are spreading that info are lying, please reTweet and help spread the word!” NOT quite a commitment to KY, or, anywhere else for that matter! Also, NOT saying he won’t still go to Puke, ah, Duke. But, if I had a favorite, I doubt I’d be super serious about making sure disinformation was just that!!

We NEEDED that title last year. Always being the bridesmaid will only hurt you in recruiting. I mean, don’t get me wrong, we will still get ours. But, kids want RINGS.

As of now, I’m betting the Porter/Young duo attend Kansas. That’s not considering the crystal ball. Just had that feeling ever since the EYBL in Lex. Sat behind some Mokan Elite people, they were chatting it up with a Kansas assistant. Just a gut feeling though.

I have seen too many basketball seasons to ever count on the sure thing, if any one had a sure thing it was Big Blue this year and well the rest is history. I am not all that worked up about little blue (Duke), it’s one of the elite programs, but that won’t put any points on the ‘board. There are always surprises in college basketball.

Wait until Duke’s players continue to be sub-par in the NBA for the most part, and the momentum will shift back.

who cares how much they make in the nba. With all that money made Cal has won just 1 title {and almost coached his way out of that in the 2nd half}, how many titles would K have with the teams Cal has had. Probably double digits.

Oh at least 48-50 titles. Lol. K is a good coach but that would be really something to win 10+ championships in 6 seasons. Ricky 2 stacks has won 1 title in 15 yrs at UofL. Keep whining and living vicariously through Duke’s success. Last time I checked it meant something to go to 4/6 Final Fours. Shut it.

Kyrkla;jiaiypwheuski had better be careful what he wishes for. Remember, at heart, he doesn’t want to recruit the OAD players, he’s doing it ONLY because he’s realized the current lay of the recruiting land – which was developed by Cal.

But, there’s a big difference between K and Cal; Cal truly believes in a “Players-First” approach in everything he does and that is why he has been massively successful with OAD’s. The Bobby Knight coaching tree that Kaksyufasuhfnp3ski comes from is absolutely NOT “players-first”. In other words, if Kklas;hfu8hbawski gets all these OAD’s on campus together he is not equipped to handle them like Cal has been able to. It may very well blow up in his face.

Signing them would be quite the feat, but coaching them and keeping them happy may be out of his league. A short-term upswing in recruiting could be followed by a crash if they had a banner class of OAD’s that couldn’t be formed into an effective team.

Cal can do it. I don’t think Kja;lajfioanieski has the right background to do it.

Some coaches call it problematic. Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski said players who go pro after one season add to the instability that the sport has experienced in recent years.

“What it has produced is one-and-done for kids who are not going pro, the amount of transfers we have in basketball. There are over 450 transfers. Kids don’t stick to the school that they pick and they want instant gratification,” Krzyzewski wrote via email. “It’s not just those elite players that might be able to go after one year. There’s just the mentality out there that if you don’t achieve after one year, maybe you should go someplace else. For the one-and-done guys it’s the NBA, but for the other kids, it’s another school.”

I think Hurley hit it. After K won it this year…it was he adjusted to today’s situation and was successful.

With Cal, its One and Done is ruining college basketball…Cal doesn’t care about the kids, they don’t go to class…….

On the other hand, we still continue to put together top recruiting class YEAR after YEAR! We’ve made DEEP tourney runs 5 out of 6 years in a row! We won the Title in 2012, yet, DID NOT pull off 2-3 Championships in a row! In fact, we DIDN’T even make the Tourney in ’13! Remember, that was Louisville’s year! That was the year we had the unbelievable “twin towers”, BBN, remember that? Then Duke, who had TOP recruiting classes every year right along with us kept getting knocked out of the Tourney by teams that had NO business doing it! Now that I’m done with the facts, some personal comments…I worry about the Basketball Program as much as anyone! With donations on the line, my family has as much reason to worry as anyone else! You people worry WAY TOO much, and seem to have NO FAITH in our beloved Coach Cal! Another thought…how many of you work for the University? Oh, none?! That’s kinda what I figured! Either get behind the team, or, become a Louisville fan! Because I have the most extreme faith in the highest paid college coach in the country, and by far one of THE BEST recruiters in the country! Next to maybe Doc Rivers, Blake Griffin, and whoever else sat at DeAndre Jordan’s house with a gun to his head and his phone lines cut off! They’re pretty damned good! GO CAL! GO CATS! GO KENTUCKY! Oh, a couple more facts for you to consider…most of you are whining that losing this past season REALLY hurt us! Maybe, but, I doubt it! We had a beyond stacked team, we went 38-0, yet we DID NOT win! Duke did! Thanks to us wearing Wisconsin down by giving them their hardest fought game of the season! Duke after fairly easily running over MSU, played Wisconsin in 1 day, who had NOTHING left for em, yet still seemed to give Duke a fight! Here’s another fun fact, Duke ONLY has so many scholarships, just like us! The 2016 class is being touted one of the MOST TALENTED incoming classes of ALL TIME! See where I’m going with this? It’s anybody’s ballgame folks! My money is still on Cal & the Cats! Literally! Again, ye have little faith!!!

I would like to correct myself…I WILL admit when I’m WRONG! After reviewing the comments, it’s fairly obvious MOST of you ARE KY fans, and ONLY a handful continue to trash talk over & over & over! Why you people are even commenting on here is mysterious to me?! As you few whining asses are obviously anti-KY, you must be REALLY worried about what UK is doing to be trolling the site of your MOST HATED opponent! Again, I LOVE KY Basketball as much as anyone! Yet, you WONT find me on Duke’s sites trolling, UNC’s site calling them CHEATERS! Accusing their players of NOT going to class! Oh wait…they ARE being investigated aren’t they?! Oops! You won’t find me on Syracuse’s site calling them cheaters…or Wisconsin’s calling their team cry babies who put on a complete YUK FEST in front of the cameras, laughing, making jokes, rubbing on each other…until they lost! Then they couldn’t even mutter a racial slur over their sobs! Get em Andrew! Lmfao!! So, again, I apologize to the UK “believers” that commented on here! The rest of you can well…stick it! But please, ALL OF YOU, RELAX! Stay calm! We WILL be fine!!!!!
