Diamond Stone says that he and Malik Newman are a package deal

hqdefault

Evan Daniels dropped a bomb on Twitter this morning regarding the recruitments of Malik Newman and Diamond Stone:

Newman, a combo-guard,  is considered the #1 player in the class of 2015 by a number of recruiting sites and is thought to be a Kentucky lean. Stone is a consensus top 10 player and is one of the best big men in the class. These “package deals” seem to be becoming more and more frequent, with Tyus Jones and Jahlil Okafor being the most recent example (though Devin Booker and Tyler Ulis might also qualify). It would certainly be nice to see both of these young men in the blue and white.

Come on down?

Would be nice to get both. But package deals rarely come to fruition. But I hope this happens.

Newman, Stone, Carlton Bragg and Jaylen Brown need to be our top targets for 2015.

I was about to post the same comment. That was the most secure package deal that I recall.

ll the top recruits are getting paid, but the money comes from the shoe companies and the AAU coaches who’s teams they sponsor. My colleague played D1 bball and his AAU teammate from played in the SEC. He was ranked around 50 and was getting mid 5 figures and they moved his mother his freshman year and got her a nursing job.

It is my understanding that the schools have pretty much gotten out of the game, but some boosters still play that game. Also, if your choice of schools wears different shoes than your AAU sugar daddies, then the well dries up.
