Devonta Lee will make Surprise Unofficial Visit to Kentucky

One of Kentucky’s top remaining recruiting targets is taking an unexpected trip to Lexington this weekend.

Four-star wide receiver Devonta Lee will be on Kentucky’s campus this weekend for an unofficial visit, reports Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman.  The talented 2019 wide out will be on hand to watch the UK basketball team host the Kansas Jayhawks at Rupp Arena.

Lee officially visited Kentucky in December and was reportedly blown away by the visit.  Many believed, including myself, that it would be his last trip to Lexington.  The Under Armour All-American’s second visit shows the Cats have a realistic chance to pull him away from his home state school.

Lee, teammates with UK quarterback signee Amani Gilmore, is not finished taking visits.  He is expected to officially visit LSU on the final weekend before National Signing Day.

If Kentucky can beat out LSU to pull off the massive recruiting upset, Lee will be the highest-rated recruited in the class (No. 126 overall by Rivals) and an instant impact outside wide receiver for Terry Wilson.

Crap, just when I was getting 100% in basketball mode! Just getting him on campus is a huge deal.

Basketball mode??? Come on Clutch… you know its all about football. 😉

Okay, I’m glad to see Cal and company improving and I want them to win it all… but it really is football for me. I wish I could just go over to the football stadium and sit in the stands for a while. I can’t wait for Spring practice… hope they do the Spring game right – a late afternoon or early evening game with fireworks afterwards. Do it late enough on Saturday so the folks from western KY can make it in.

    For Armani Gilmore you mean?

Exactly what I’ve been saying all along bwise but it still comes down to if Stoops will give him a fair shot. Barker being held out when Towles was a int throwing machine and Clark’s only real snap being a run that ended in a fumble after Wilson had fumbled and intercepted his way into the God of TOs is proof that Stoops doesn’t like giving younger guys a fair shake. If Lee does come here it will probably be under the stipulation that if Gilmore out performs Wilson he gets the nod. If Stoops can’t give him that promise he’ll end up at LSU.

Isn’t Wilson younger than Clark and hoak?

He’s a JUCO which is something Stoops now sees as experience since he was forced into having success with one after Barker’s back pretty much ended his career. What I was saying is he treats ok qbs with some experience above what could be a great talent with none.

Great to hear he’s gonna make that visit. Let’s hope he cancels the LSU visit after that, though I don’t care where he goes for visits if he signs with UK

Let’s sick the big dog on him and reel this guy in. If we can land him a long with a wide receiver transfer, and JaVonte Richardson… all of a sudden our passing offense is looking scary for our opponents. Lynn Bowden will be a top 5 receiver in the country if we can get him some help. We need to have enough talent on the edge so that teams can’t afford to key in on him. Also, need one of our tight ends on the roster to step up with the loss of CJ Conrad. I think Rose and whoever we pair him up with in the backfield will be fine due to our offensive line’s experience. Plus Terry will be another year older, with a 10-win season and a bowl victory under his belt… don’t sleep on this team next season is all I’m saying. As fans we have to keep up our support!!
