Two Kentucky football targets are eyeing mid-August decisions.
Over the weekend Monkell Goodwine unveiled his top five finalists: Arizona State, Alabama, Clemson, Kentucky and Texas A&M. Recruited by new UK defensive line coach Anwar Stewart, Rivals ranks the DC-area athlete as the No. 27 player in America and the fifth-ranked strongside defensive end. Most recruiting analysts predict Goodwine will pick either Alabama or A&M when he makes his decision Aug. 15.

Another UK recruit is tentatively planning his announcement the following day on Aug. 16. Maxwell Hairston told Cats Illustrated’s Justin Rowland that he initially planned on committing on his Aug. 6 birthday. Now he’ll most likely reveal his finalists on his birthday before announcing his commitment on his father’s birthday ten days later.
Hairston is a three-star cornerback from the Detroit suburb of West Bloomfield. Recruited by Steve Clinkscale, Hairston received a wave of offers after posting a 4.5 40-yard dash at an Under Armor camp. Upon receiving the scholarship offer from Kentucky, Hairston said, “Kentucky has been a dream school of mine since I was young, this is huge. [Kentucky] easily goes in my top schools.”
