Day One of Army All-American Practice was GREAT for UK

The U.S. Army All-American game is the premiere all-star game for the most elite high school prospects.  It’s a place UK football isn’t very familiar with.  The last time we paid attention, Matt Elam and Drew Barker were on the sidelines.

This year is different.  Three of UK’s best incoming early enrollees are from the state, and they’re not just out there having fun, they’re kicking ass.  Landon Young and Drake Jackson received most of the Day One praise, but Kash Daniel got in on the action as well.

Woody Wommack of Rivals put together a list of the schools that fared best from the first day of practice.  Next Monday, Clemson will play in the National Championship game, but after this Monday’s All-American practices they are one spot behind UK.

1.  Michigan State
2.  Florida State
3.  Kentucky
4.  Clemson
5.  Ohio State
6.  Michigan
7.  Ole Miss
8.  Miami
9.  Stanford
10.  Florida

If you were playing the game, “Which one doesn’t belong?” UK is clearly out of place, ahead of traditional college football powers.  Sure, it’s just practice for a high school All-Star game, but I can’t help but get a little excited.
