More bad news for Cats in the NFL.
John Fox told reporters today that Danny Trevathan injured his thumb during last night’s Monday Night Football game against the Eagles. He will have surgery tomorrow but Fox doesn’t consider the injury a season-ender.
After winning a Super Bowl for the Broncos, he made bank by signing with the Bears in the offseason. In his first game against the Texans he had 11 tackles and a sack. Last night he had four tackles, which includes the smashing of rookie Carson Wentz near the sideline. I think Wentz will slide next time.

Trevathan’s former UK backup, Avery Williamson, left yesterday’s game with an injured back. Luckily, he shouldn’t miss any playing time. Stevie Johnson isn’t as lucky. He won’t be leaving the injured reserve this season after tearing his right meniscus in the preseason.
As soon as I thought I was done writing this post, I found more bad news: the Colts released Winston Guy. The former Wildcat safety specialized in special teams, but was starting to earn more defensive reps, appearing in more than half of the snaps in the first two games of the season. Godspeed Winston, Godspeed.
