Could Matthew Mitchell’s Coaching Staff be Changing?

UK Athletics

UK Athletics

As first reported by Jen Smith at the Herald-Leader this morning, we may see some new coaching changes for the 2018-19 Women’s Basketball Season.

According to a new posting on UK’s job boards, Matthew Mitchell is looking for a special assistant. Here’s the job description taken from the posting online

An internal employee being considered? Could it be Lin Dunn? Jen seems to think so and so do I.

Read Jen’s full article here on who she thinks will fill Dunn’s role if Dunn takes this new job.

I would think he would be on his way out soon. All the turmoil and underachieving he’s had last several years should start to overtake the gimmicky dances at madness yearly

Should’ve been gone already. His dances aren’t the only thing gimmicky. Mitch isn’t getting rid of him though. He likes him.

Unless he changes and gets some decent big kids, the results will ALWAYS be the same. He’ll never get out of a regional. It’s been this way from the beginning. A new assistant will not help this in ANY way.

I really think Mitchell is a really good coach, but I’m not sure what happen a few years ago, but it seems to have killed any positive momentum. I also like his style of play, pressing, running, but without depth it’s why we always see the girls start the year doing well and then mid season they tank.
The coaching change needs to start at the top.
Barhardt wont do anything, less is more, I guess

Gotta figure MM is out after next season if the record is similar to this year.

Coach Mitchell is the best thing to happen to UK Hoops in its history…

Not did much lately…I’d be shocked if he’s around 1-2 years if it stays this way.

IEBC on the UK Jobs website always means the job is already taken by someone.
