University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Come see us at the Morehead Kroger!

I will be at the Morehead Kroger on Friday beginning at 2:30 pm ET for a Facebook Live broadcast previewing our Game of the Week along with handing out Kroger gift cards. In order to receive a Kroger gift card, you must say, “Kroger Presents the KSR Game of the Week featuring Belfry at Pikeville.”

Last week’s stop at the Richmond Road Kroger prior to the Frederick Douglass and North Hardin game was a tremendous success. I hope to see you tomorrow at Morehead and remember the magic words in order to be eligible to receive a Kroger gift card. See you there.

A few nuggets about the game:

— Friday will mark the 73rd matchup between the Pike County schools. Belfry and Pikeville are both reigning state champions in their classification and features a pair of quarterbacks that are receiving college scholarship offers. Pikeville’s Isaac McNamee has offers from EKU and Marshall. Belfry’s Brett Coleman is committed to Miami of Ohio as a safety.

— Friday’s matchup also features running backs who are coming off monstrous games from Week One. Pikeville’s Blake Birchfield rushed for 151-yards off just 13 carries in the Panther’s win over Raceland. Belfry’s Isaac Dixon carried the football 14 times while racking up 194-yards and two touchdowns in the Pirates 33-13 win over Pulaski County.

— Belfry is led by Coach Phillip Haywood who has won 450 games over the course of an unprecedented career. Haywood is Kentucky’s all-time winningest coach. Pikeville’s head coach Chris McNamee has won two state championships and is looking for number three in 2020. The Panthers defeated Belfry 22-21 a year ago. Buckle up for what could be an instant classic in mountain football.
