Come see KSR at the Beaumont Kroger in Lexington Friday Afternoon

The Friday tradition continues as the Kroger Presents the KSR Game of the Week show is going to Simon Kenton for its matchup against the defending 4A state champion Johnson Central Golden Eagles. Before that matchup, you can come see Drew Franklin, Ryan Lemond, and myself at the Beaumont Kroger in Lexington at 4:00pm. We’ll be giving away Kroger gift cards if you say the magic words, “Kroger Presents the KSR Game of the Week.”

Friday night is trending to be a slugfest at Simon Kenton. The Pioneers are led by sophomore quarterback Chase Crone who threw for 1,740 yards as a freshman. He’s joined in the backfield by Jayden Lawson. Simon Kenton is 2-0 after it defeated Highlands 27-14 in the opener, followed by a 36-6 win over Walton-Verona.

Johnson Central has been to five consecutive state championship games, winning two. The Golden Eagles are a heavy run team and averaged 300 yards per game in 2019. Running back Dylan Preston earned the state championship game MVP award, then started his 2020 campaign by rushing for 147 yards and four touchdowns in Johnson Central’s opening win over Bell County.

It will be an exciting night of football in the Bluegrass Friday night. Before all of the action begins come out and see us at 4:00 pm at the Beaumont Kroger in Lexington. We’ll do a Facebook Live and hand out gift cards. Supplies are limited, so get there early.
