CollegeBasketballTalk, an affiliate with NBC is counting down the top games of 2015 on its Facebook page and of course Kentucky made the list. The Elite Eight game, which may have given a couple of us heart attacks, checked in at No. 2 on the countdown.
The game of course saw Notre Dame play extremely well and smart, practically controlling the game. That was until Karl-Anthony Towns proved why he was the No. 1 overall pick in the draft and just dominated a smaller post player. Towns finished the game with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in one of the most dominating single-game performances we saw out of KAT. Then, there was Andrew Harrison.
With the game on the line the point guard was able to get to the hoop and get fouled. Then he calmly hit two free throws, something he might not get enough credit for, with the game on the line. Jerian Grant missed a running three from the corner to send Kentucky to the Final Four. That game, for me, was one of the best college basketball games I saw just as a fan as it was back and forth and was won by a team rather than a team handing the game away.
What are your memories of the game?
