A former Wildcat has made it to the weekend.
Playing in his first major tournament, Chip McDaniel made the cut at the U.S. Open. After shooting an even-par 71 on Thursday, Clay County’s finest shot two-over Friday, falling just below the cut line.
This time a year ago, McDaniel had just finished a four-year run at the University of Kentucky. In that short amount of time he’s played in five PGA events and will make it to Sunday at Pebble Beach. Incredible.
To the weekend we go! So excited to play the weekend in my first major and beyond grateful for all the support. Nothing goes unnoticed I can promise you that! #hicktopebble
