Charles Matthews has certainly had a memorable year in his first season as a Michigan Wolverine, perhaps today made it a little more memorable as Michigan outlasted Purdue to win the Big Ten tournament for the second year in a row.
Matthews finished his day with 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists in 33 minutes as a big day from Moritz Wagner was just enough for the Wolverines to hold off a late push by Purdue to win by a score of 75-66.

Matthews played well throughout the BIG 10 tournament averaging 9.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.25 assists in 4 games. It has been cool to watch Matthews succeed this season after a tough freshman year at Kentucky.
I haven’t seen any brackets that have Kentucky colliding with Michigan at any point in the tournament, but if you factor in Kentucky’s recent history with the seeding committee it will probably happen.
After this weekend’s performances from both teams I don’t think any member of the BBN is hoping for a potential match-up with Michigan and Matthews.
