Chane Behanan gone?

Rick Pitino, loser of five of his last six games against Kentucky, is set to address the media in 30 minutes and it might have something do with Chane Behanan. Louisville’s trouble-making forward just sent out two tweets suggesting he may be done at UofL:

chane

If Chane really is gone, I find it hilarious Pitino, loser of five of his last six games against Kentucky, kept him around long enough to play against UK.

We’ll find out for sure very, very soon.

UPDATE: Kevin Ware says goodbye…

Sooo he’ll back in two weeks, right?

Maybe this means Rick is turning it around and going to practice what he preaches. He is going to have integrity and honesty going forward and having nothing but respectful and quality young men play for him from this point forward…

Why now? What’s the point? Unless he’s gotten into trouble again for something new, I don’t see a reason for cutting him loose like this, especially since Rick probably convinced him to return to school for another year. I don’t know all the facts obviously, but this would seem like a jerk move at this time.

The kid is a punk and he should will have plenty of time to reflect on the good times while playing oversea. This is all a Rick Pitino, self-created “lights and magic show” to divert attention away from the fact that his team lost to Kentucky on Saturday. Plain and simple!!

Didn’t we hear before the season ever started that Chane was off the team, and “most likely” wouldn’t return? A week later, Chane was doing the “right things”, and would probably return to the team. Pitino is the ultimate “Doctor of Spin”!! Give me a break!

    • Hoof Hearted
      1:10 pm December 30, 2013 Permalink

You’re spot-on about diverting attention. One of Pitino’s hallmarks.

Oh and another excuse why they lost — Pitino said it distracted Behanan during the game because he knew “the hammer was about to come down on him”.

Really Rick? If that’s truly the case, why was he playing in the game in the first place??

I can’t believe the media doesn’t call this guy out more on his spin. Sports media in Louisville is pathetic.

Agree 100%. Granted, often times these kids have no one to blame but themselves, but they’re still really just kids, and it sucks to see them throw away such great opportunities, largely because they’re too young & inexperienced to have enough perspective to see how exceptional the opportunity actually is. And as a UK fan, I’m hesitant to revel in such a scenario…we’d be awfully naive to think this couldn’t just as easily be one of our guys next time.

Poythress clean rip, called for a foul. WCS ripped Smith, no contact, called for a foul. Russ Smith jumps into WCS, but loses the ball before contact is made. No call, but out of bounds off UK?? Russ Smith’s travel right in front of the official with a couple of minutes to go. The hacking of Randle? I’ll be honest, the second call on Harrell was bad, but to actually believe this was lopsided when UK shot 6 more free throws, and several of those were intentional at the end of the game to stop the clock sounds pathetic.
The refs made bad calls for both teams.

Real classy folks. Throwing trash at a young adult when you have no clue what he actually did wrong. It’s easy to see where our young folks get their disrespectful ways from. And yes, I understand that fans from both sides dish out the trash but that is no excuse to be a follower and join in especially when you are taking it out on young adults.

These kids work their butts off to earn a scholarship and maintain good grades to play the sport they love and provide entertainment to a bunch of sorry immature fans who can’t show a little good sportsmanship.

But the vast majority of folks on this thread as well as a later one are saying some pretty horrible things about a young man who obviously needs some guidance. If you think showing some compassion to a troubled young adult and admonishing others who can’t muster anything but ridicule looks like someone riding around on their “high horse” then I feel for you. There’s no one to blame but Chane and Rick, if Rick set a better example for his players and they not see that their coach does what he wants, buys his way out of it and everything will be ok. It is sad that he and Russ Smith both should’ve gone to the NBA last year is a much weaker draft than this one will, but just like SLICK RICK piss on the kids whats best for me.

Um, Richie Farmer……. Coached by Pitino, loser of of 5 of last 6 games against UK. Are you capable of seeing a pattern here? Clean your house before pointing fingers at someone else little brother.

L1C4 – little brother first, conflicted forever.

Can’t begin to describe how troubling it is to see Kevin Ware talking about someone being shot.

    Again?!?

Getting a Red-flag sense of foreboding.

    Again…

Since Louisville has not beat a team in the top 50, and they lost their second leading rebounder, is this a sign of a path to the NIT? Rick Pitino , loser of 5 of last 6 against UK, must be thinking about having lost control of his team, now that cardinal basketball suspensions mean nothing until you, as a player, have gone “outside the lines” several times, or have no perceived value to Rick Pitino, loser of 5 of last 6 against UK. How could a parent support their child’s decision to allow Pitino, loser of 5 of the last 6 against UK?
Chane, good luck. Get to a program that will help you.
