Cal Brought Company on this Recruiting Trip

John Calipari typically brings company with him on recruiting trips, but it’s usually one of his employees. Tonight, he brought his wife and her parents.

A basketball gym isn’t the ideal place for a family reunion, but UK signee P.J. Washington is playing in Springfield, Missouri, Ellen’s home state.  Washington is making sure everyone in the gym knows who they are there to see.

Calipari is expected to stick around after to watch Marvin Bagley, the No. 1 junior in America, but with in-laws to appease, I doubt they will linger for long.

He looks like a young tjones in that picture with a hint of Jodie Meeks. Imagine if you crossed those players. The athleticism!

I’d recognize those seat backs anywhere. Cal’s in my hometown. Hope the homies give Cal his due respect, but knowing some of those basketball snobs they’ll be jealous of his success and treat him like the villain put forth by the media and haters. I give SW Mo credit. They love basketball and they bring in the best teams for some great tournaments. However, they think they love it more than almost any other place in the world. That’s what I thought….until I moved to Lexington. People here are crazy in love with roundball. It doesn’t even compare.
