BTI’s Rants and Ramblings: Who The SEC Beat in the Non-Conference

It was another rousing year of non-conference SEC basketball (sarcasm) and we likely finished what was the best UK non-conference slate in history (not sarcasm).  But from here on out, or at least until the SEC Tournament, UK will only face other SEC teams.  So it might be a good time to look at the rest of the league and who exactly they beat.  It’s not an impressive list to say the least, but I think it might give you some indication of who could possibly challenge UK over the next 2 months.  Teams are listed by their RPI and those in bold are ones that UK beat:

    There is only one defense of continuing to use RPI for anything and that’s that the NCAA still uses it. Otherwise if you’re actually interested in a solid evaluation of a team and you’re not using Pomeroy’s ratings then I don’t know what to tell you.
