A lot has been made about the Class of 2015 football group and some of the instant impact guys in that class.  Through 2 games, we have certainly seem some flashes from a few of them, most notably Chris Westry.  But what about the class as a whole?  In total, there are 18 true freshman currently on the UK roster, and of those 18, 9 guys have already seen game action.  What has that production from the Class of 2015 looked like and which guys haven’t seen the field yet, maybe indicating a redshirt could be coming?  Below are the game participation and stats for each of the 18 true freshman on the team:

PLAYED
Chris Westry (DB): Played 2 games (2 starts), 5.5 tackles, 1 sack, 1 INT
George Asafo-Adjei (OG): Played 2 games (2 starts)

Derrick Baity (DB): Played 2 games, 1 tackle
Josh Allen (LB): Played 2 games, .5 tackles
Jordan Jones (LB): Played 1 game, 2.5 tackles
Kengera Daniel (DE): Played 1 game

Really encouraging seeing 4 OL that may redshirt along with the great class coming in. That position is becoming an area of confidence for UK and doesn’t look like it will be a headache spot for some time.

I think Richardson is a mistake. I know UK listed him on the participation thing on the box score. But those are far from reliable. I hope somebody asks Stoops, but I think that’s a mistake.

Maybe so, I was simply going off the participation chart. It’s possible he played on special teams only though.

    Hey BTI,

You could always include King’s return statistics as well! He’s gonna be good.

That’s what I was thinking, how many return yards does King have so far?

Kengera Daniel is a mistake too I believe. He showed up on the participation report, but I don’t think he played.

His father who posts on Catsillustrated confirmed he has played on special teams.

something to note on this class is the extra practice they’ll receive when we earn a bowl game … getting a bowl game every year is huge and we’ll hopefully start a string of those this year

Probably my favorite article from BTI. Not too long and to the point. Useful information.

Really wish Kengera Daniel had not played already, but, who knows, he may get valuable reps as the season progresses.

Also, Tavin Richardson wears the same number as JD Harmon, who plays a lot on special teams. So, it was probably just a mix-up.
