BTI’s Rants and Ramblings: Favorite Season Opening Win?

We are just a very few short weeks away from college football coming back into our lives.  And while this year’s opening game on the schedule doesn’t excite many, just to see this talented team take the field and see if they can do something special is exciting.  Since 1997, Kentucky has won 11 season opening games.  Below are each of those, most with videos.  Which one is your favorite?

I still say the 1998 win at the first game of Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium is my favorite UK game period.  To put 68 points up on that team in the opening of their stadium is just the greatest rivalry moment I can remember in football.

1997: Kentucky 38, Louisville 24

1998: Kentucky 68, Louisville 34

2002: Kentucky 22, Louisville 17

2007: Kentucky 50, Eastern Kentucky 10
2008: Kentucky 27, Louisville 2

2009: Kentucky 42, Miami (OH) 0
2010: Kentucky 23, Louisville 16
2011: Kentucky 14, Western Kentucky 3
2014: Kentucky 59, UT-Martin 14
2015: Kentucky 40, UL-Lafayette 33
2017: Kentucky 24, Southern Miss 17

Reply fail. I was actually listing my favorite UK football games ever. Clearly the LSU game was later in the season.
