Brohm: “It’s important for me to not comment”

Jeff Brohm is at the top of Louisville’s list of head football coaching candidates. You can even say Jeff Brohm is the list of coaching candidates for the Cards.

On Monday, Brohm was asked about the new job opening at his alma mater during his weekly press conference at Purdue. He responded, “I’ve heard the noise just like anyone else. It’s important for me to not comment on any speculation. We’ve got work to do. And a lot of it.”

That’s not a denial, and Purdue fans can’t love it.

If Brohm remains in West Lafayette, other names of interest for the job include Charlie Strong and Lane Kiffin, which is funny.

You can even bet on who will get the gig:

Jeff Brohm -200
Chip Long +250
Ryan Day +300
Charlie Strong +350
Brian Brohm +400
Lane Kiffin +450
Field +150

Good luck, baby bro.

I think he passes it up but it will be very hard for him to. I dont really care who they hire as long it isn’t Neal Brown.

There’s no way U of L makes a $14MM decision with out knowing who their guy is. Brohm is a done deal.

It’s U of L. They do stupid stuff daily.

Just saw a very interesting candidate name pop up for that job….Lane Kiffin. Now THAT would be interesting

Just saw you have Kiffin on that list too Drew. And Charlie Strong….hell, Lville should give every past coach another tour of duty…where is John l Smith (KY state I think)….and dont forget kragthorpe….where is schnellenberger.

I’m thinking a Ron Cooper comeback could be just the spark that program needs.

Charlie Strong??? Didn’t he coach there a few years ago?

Charlie was nailing the wife of a UL board member while he was still coaching at UL. Not sure how welcome he would be if he came back, but anything to win.

Kiffin would be perfect. Strong aint going back to an EX. Brohm honestly hasnt done enough in my opinion for him to be “THEGUY”. Sure he is an alum and a UL guy but i honestly dont think he can get UL to a flagship point.

Please hire Lane Kiffin… That would be amazing

That would be a match made in heaven. We really need somebody that hateable at UofL.

Wouldn’t UL have to buy Brohm out from Perdue. Then pay him at least what Petrino was making. Where does an athletic department supposedly in the red financially suddenly get $20 million for buyouts, plus a salary. We all know unless NCAA comes down hard on UL, pitino will win his $40 million suit. I guess Louisville taxpayers and new students will get ripped off to pay for their criminal behavior.

Brian Brohm May get the job. He would be a good fit there I believe. It would take a lot of patience from their fans, but he could do as good anyone there with local recruits. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

He’s not exactly lighting it up at Purdue. He would probably consider the uOFsmell job a MUCH easier route to the top 6 Bowl Games every year. I mean, it is the ACC.

In the photo it literally looks like Jeff has tire tracks across the side of his face. Purdue’s AD already had a go at him?

UofL job is second tier and Brohm should avoid but as somebody stated this has probably been in the works for a while.
If USC or OSU comes calling for Brohm as rumored he should jump at either of those opportunities.

All their fans would be thinking is Brohm would at least have a better shot at getting top tier in state talent as opposed to Stoops here. Hell he’s getting what should be UK recruits to Purdue. That plus what he did at wku once he had time to build would be enough to silence some of the Louisville grumbling for a time as far as the AD is concerned.
