It’s been over a week since Beyoncé’s “Lemonade” album dropped so dedicating this wake-up to her might seem a little late in the game. But it is also nine and a half hours until I get to witness the Queen Bey herself perform live in Atlanta at the Georgia Dome. Naturally it only felt right to dedicate this post to her and give you something wonderful to look at to start the new week off right. And while you’re at it, you can seethe in jealousy as I give you the rest of the morning’s posts before heading off to the concert of a lifetime instead of studying for finals…Drew, we all know you’re secretly hating me but equally proud. You can find plenty of details from the concert on my Twitter tonight so get ready for a Bey-utiful night (@KelseyKSR)!

Now, on to what you need to know…

Josh Forrest was drafted by the Rams

The Los Angeles Rams selected Kentucky linebacker Josh Forrest in the sixth round with the 190th pick in the NFL Draft. He was the first defensive player chosen by the Rams after going with offensive roles for their previous four. Last season, Forrest finished with 93 tackles total including 3 1/2 sacks. Good luck to this now-former Wildcat!

Other NFL signings…

Jordan Swindle – OT – L.A. Rams free agent

Melvin Lewis – DT – New York Giants free agent

Kelly Mason – Long Snapper – Washington Redskins’ rookie mini-camp invitation

Cory “C.J.” Johnson – DT – Atlanta Falcons free agent

Farrington Huguenin – DE – Miami Dolphins free agent

NBA combine invite list…

The invitations for the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago have been sent out and the list gradually leaked out through the course of the day yesterday.  The combine workout takes place on May 11-16.

Wildcats invited to the 2016 NBA Combine:

Tyler Ulis, Skal Labissiere and Jamal Murray

Wildcats who are being listed as alternates:

Alex Poythress, Marcus Lee and Isaiah Briscoe

Stay tuned for updates regarding the status of our alternates and good luck to Ulis, Skal and Murray as they kick-off their NBA careers!

John Wall took his mom to the White House Correspondents’ dinner

Last night was the annual White House Correspondents’ dinner, Obama’s last to be exact.  Our own former Wildcat and current Washington Wizard, John Wall, was in attendance. Alongside him on this exciting night? His mother. If that’s not the best gift a momma’s boy could give for Mother’s Day I don’t know what is!

UK Baseball finishes up series against Auburn today

Kentucky Baseball fell to Auburn, 10-6, in game two of the series against the Tigers. This puts Kentucky 0-2 in the series as they enter today’s game. You can catch the Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. on the SEC Network+ as they battle it out one last time with the Tigers.

Marques Bolden played in the Ball is Life All-American game last night

Last night in California, Marques Bolden was a last-minute addition to the Ball Is Life All-American Game. Bolden still has yet to make a decision between Kentucky and Duke, but I’ll have more on the status of his recruitment coming up a little later, so stay tuned!
