What is happening in Berea? Yesterday, Berea College Provost Linda Strong-Leek sent an email to students, faculty, and staff announcing that the 2020 baseball season is canceled, seemingly for disciplinary reasons. The Mountaineers play in the USA South Conference and were supposed to start their season on Feb. 8 at Sewanee.

At the end of the email, Strong-Leek said the school hopes Berea will be able to field a team next year.

As this story develops, it is becoming clear that this is completely off allegations and rumors of two people. Yet, the college is punishing the entire program. Why not seek justice on the individuals involved, rather than making everyone suffer?

Welcome to New America. You cannot punish JUST the culprits, that wouldn’t be fair to them…
