Beau Allen to announce his decision next week

We now know when Lexington Catholic quarterback Beau Allen will announce his college decision.

According to PrepSpin, a high school broadcasting network here in Kentucky, Allen will hold a press conference next Monday, May 6, at 3:30 pm from his high school. PrepSpin will have a live stream of the event, which we will carry for you here on KSR.

Allen is expected to pick Kentucky for his college football career, but he is also high on Mike Leach’s offense at Washington State and Neal Brown’s at West Virginia.

We’ll learn which program he decides Monday afternoon.

I am hearing the favorite is Kansas bc he wants to play for a true football powerhouse. I am also hearing his interest in Kentucky is only out of respect for the Rick Barnes/UCLA coaching debacle.

You stay Home The reason Kentucky has been Run happy is they haven’t had a QB That is totally confident in his game or wasn’t injured in the past few years! Bring that game to Kentucky Your a Wildcat!!

Can he play at this level? Will the coaches give him a chance?

First question. Yes. Second question. No. Name one QB that they developed out of H.S?

Name one they had that was capable. Only good QB recruit from HS that we got was Drew and hehad a great 1st half in his start but got injured and was never the same. Only other good QB recruits {not counting JUCO} we had were so good teams like Miami and Bama came in and took them. Plus SJ did improve as the season went on and we will see with Terry this year. This staff has PROVEN it can develop players at several positions, maybe all but QB. If they have the quality player, I think you will see how good Terry is this year, we will be just fine. Gran, as much as I hated his play calling last year, has done well with college QB’s in the past. He gets one the quality of Mr. Allen, who knows. Plus if the QB is that good there is not much the staff has to do. I know it is rare but Clemson did not develop Trevor, he was just that good.

He’s the exact type of quarterback we need to get us to the SEC Championship game, not just the SEC East Championship game. I hope he becomes a Cat!!

If BA commits to UK on Monday, we will be seeing other “big time” playmakers following suit. A solid commitment now from him is huge for future 2020 recruiting.

I think this is why he moved his announcement date up. Him and Young are gonna hit the trail and start reeling in recruits. This is all falling perfect for the cats, coming off a great season, great year for in state talent, dominating Louisville, Ohio State is going through a coaching change. This is the perfect storm to take this program to that next level because there is no chance in hell he goes anywhere but UK.

In other words, if he ‘commits’ to us, he might come here. Got it. I’ll get excited when the letter is faxed in. I love UK football, but unfortunately it’s what commit has become.

It’s what it’s always been. We’ve just never had these caliber athletes on our board.

His Dad, Bill Allen, was a better PAT holder than a QB at UK

I’ll S-L-O-W it down for you a bit…his Dad sucked.

Beau Allen will never play a snap behind center at UK. Drew Barker 2.0. Waaaay Overhyped
