RECAP

While it was a busy night in the NBA with nine games in action on Saturday, the injury bug dragged the excitement meter all the way down. Anthony Davis sat out with an elbow sprain he suffered in their win against the Nets the night before. Darius Miller sat out his second straight game due to a quad injury. Alex Poythress injured his knee in a Wednesday matchup with the Dallas Mavericks and sat out as well. He’s expected to miss at least two more gamesDevin Booker has been ruled day-to-day since injuring his hamstring Wednesday night and it caused him to sit out Saturday’s game.

Of those who did play, the highlights were few and far between.

Rajon Rondo returned from his three-game suspension coming off the bench in favor of Lonzo Ball and brought in 12 points, four rebounds, and five assists. He also decided to forgo a wide-open layup in a close game for reasons I will never understand (Yes, they were down three, but there was plenty of time left. You take the easy points here).

Julius Randle was the next highest scorer, dropping in 12 points of his own on 5-11 shooting.

Andrew Harrison finally found himself some minutes for the first time all season. Unfortunately, it came in the final 4:31 of a blowout win over the Booker-less Phoenix Suns. He registered two points on 1-2 shooting.

Eric Bledsoe offered us this beautiful fakeout move on the baseline in their 22-point drumming of the Orlando Magic.

That was about it. My guess is all the stars sat out on purpose to make sure they didn’t miss a certain football game. But, we should get some better matchups tonight with John Wall and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander going head-to-head along with the trio of ex-Wildcats in Oklahoma City.
