Baseball returns TONIGHT at Whitaker Bank Ballpark

Looking for something to do this evening? Better yet, in need of sports to watch?

Lexington’s Whitaker Bank Ballpark has you covered.

This evening, the first College Commonwealth Baseball Club game will take place starting at 5:30 p.m., with ticket prices set at $5.

“We are extremely excited and ready for baseball to be back,” Legends President and CEO Andy Shea said in an official statement. “We have been preparing during this time to keep Whitaker Bank Ballpark a safe and family friendly place to enjoy a game and we thank Governor Beshear for giving us the opportunity to show that.”

Tonight’s game at Whitaker Bank Ballpark will be between Xpress Green and Xpress Gold, with both teams loaded with Division I talent, including players from the likes of UK, EKU, WKU, NKU, and Indiana, among others.

The College Commonwealth Baseball Club rosters are available here and the schedule of games can be found below:

  • 6/30: Wooden Bat League – 5:30 p.m.
  • 7/2: Wooden Bat League – 5:30 p.m.
  • 7/6: Wooden Bat League – 5:30 p.m.
  • 7/9: Wooden Bat League – 5:30 p.m.
  • 7/14: Wooden Bat League – 5:30 p.m.
  • 7/16: Wooden Bat League – 5:30 p.m.
  • 7/21: Wooden Bat League – 5:30 p.m.
  • 7/23: Wooden Bat League – 5:30 p.m.
  • 7/28: Wooden Bat League – 5:30 p.m.
  • 7/30: Wooden Bat League – 5:30 p.m.
  • 8/4: Wooden Bat League – 5:30 p.m.
  • 8/6: Wooden Bat League – 5:30 p.m.

According to the release, masks will be “strongly” recommended while in the ballpark, along with the following safety protocols:

  • Temperatures will be taken upon arrival for all patrons
  • Maintain six feet of social distance at all times
  • Seating is available throughout the entire ballpark and is not assigned
  • No gathering in common areas
  • Following the game, all players will exit the field through the back gate

Tickets will be available for purchase at the front gate.

    One player from UK kind of false advertising this seems very stupid. If I was going to risk going out to this venue I would want to see better talent than this junior college festival.
