Bam Adebayo will take an official visit to UK this weekend

With Wenyen Gabriel on board and Big Blue Madness set for next Friday, John Calipari’s turning up the heat with recruiting. One of his biggest targets as of late is five-star power forward Edrice “Bam” Adebayo, who will take an official visit to Kentucky this weekend, according to Adam Zagoria.

Zagoria reports that Adebayo will also take an official visit to NC State on October 30. Most believe Adebayo is a lock to play with AAU teammate Dennis Smith for the Wolfpack, but that hasn’t stopped Cal from trying to snag him. Cal visited the North Carolina native on September 14 and 22, and getting him on campus for an official visit is a big deal, especially with ESPNU in town to televise Sunday night’s practice.

I can hear Calipari now: “Bam, how many NC State games are on national TV? At Kentucky, we bring in ESPN for a practice. A prac-tice.”

This is a young Dwight Howard and has the Hops to big things in the dribble drive. He will waste away at NC State and not develop his game. Come on down big guy and join the UK Revolution!

I thought the same He is going to have to lose at least one bad habit though. In college he isn’t going to get away with as many push offs and elbows to get open. I saw at least 5 in that short clip. 🙂

I understand the whole wanting to stay close to home thing, but if you’re as talented as this guy, why would NC State even be on your radar? If I lived in Carolina and were dead set on staying in the state, it would be Duke or UNC… With that being said, if you’re as talented as this guy, you’d be foolish not to at least consider UK… Cal’s track record speaks for itself.

I’m hearing UK is in better shape with Adebayo than most realize. The pick today, probably NCState. But, the longer this goes, the more he’s looking. Cal has made an impression on him.

I’d rather have Mario Kegler. Cal needs to offer the kid to put pressure on Bam and have a solid backup strategy when/if Bam chooses NC State. Bam is a beast inside but Kegler is a legit stretch-4 with skills.

Kegler is a 4 star. Quit hyping this kid. We already have a commitment from Wenyen Gabriel, who is better and bigger. Kegler isn’t a “stretch 4″ either, he’s a 6’7” small forward.

No shit. I trust that Cal will go after the guys he deems worthy, not some dude in a comments section….
