  1. Justify just loved the slop… his father was a mudder, his mother was a mudder!

!First! at 13 past the hour???

What did the older man say to Matt? I missed it.

I missed it too. Something tells me I want to listen to that part of the podcast.

He told Matt he didn’t like him, and wanted to punch him in the face, and swore at him some. Then Perrin stepped in. Then Matt told the dude he had three chins. More swearing. Then Matt decided it wasn’t worth it and he and his posse walked away.

      Sounds like quite the guy.

    • Is this at the Derby or when Matt went off on someone on the radio last week? I missed that call and forgot to try to catch it on podcast.

BTW, for someone who says he’s not a fighter, MJ sounds pretty pugnacious at times. I still think STD should play “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” as a bumper whenever Matt gets into it with someone. 4everUKblue had a good song idea too but I forgot which tune.

When the guy called in about working the Derby and Bob Baffert walked right after Matt was talking about his altercation with a short, rich, old dude, I was afraid he got into it with Baffert.

      Some dude at the Derby.

CG it was “Mama Said Knock You Out”

    • That is a great one too!

I saw a spot about LL Cool J’s appearance on MTV Unplugged way back when. He was apprehensive because he wasn’t sure how well his stuff would translate to acoustic. They showed a clip from rehearsal, and at one point he really liked a riff the piano player did so he turned to him and said “Yo, rewin’ at!” Then he realized the white middle aged musician might not realize what he just said and so he said “Do that again.”

I call bs that Matt was in high school during the Jackass days.

I think he was using his facebook age there.

It was premiered 18 years ago. He could have been a senior?

He would had t have been in college because Matt is a year or two older than I am, and I’ve already had my high school 20 year reunion.

1st head coaching job at a major university – Adolph Rupp in 1930, coming here as a high school coach with zero college coaching experience. Additional duties included assistant coach for the football team.

    How times have changed.

Yeah, but when asked why UK should hire him, he replied “Because I’m the best damn basketball coach in the country.

Didn’t know that about the football part. How many years did he have to do both?

    • symphonist41169
      10:56 am May 7, 2018 Permalink

Not long, I think maybe 1 or 2 years.

    • Yeah, I read once that back then the bball coach was always a football assistant, and bball was only a reason for some football players to stay in shape during the off season. That philosophy may have been fading when Rupp came along. I’m not sure.

If Wenyen could continue the strong shooting, absolutely he could make himself draftable.

  7. Should we be surprised that the Shari’s Berries guy recommends Shari’s Berries for Mom’s Day? Yeesh. What’s he going to say on his own commercial? “I recommend a box of Russell Stover!”???

I just signed up for an Amazon Prime trial account. How is the tv content? Does that make it worth the price by itself?

    • J-Dub421
      11:28 am May 7, 2018 Permalink

Prime has decent movie selection, but I haven’t used it for TV shows much. I use their music streaming service all the time (like Pandora, but without commercials). I also use it to get free shipping why I buy stuff through Amazon.

I’ve done 2 prime trials, and like Netflix much better. But I’m more of a series person than movie watcher.

We talk a lot on here about cord cutting, so I thought I’d report back on how things went for me:

Directv acted like a middle schooler being broken up with, and 6 weeks later is still begging.

We have the cheapest Roku, and have free trialled Sling, Hulu, Vue, and Youtube in that order.
They became progressively better performing as we went along, and we landed on Youtube. After sling, it basically came down to who had the combination of recordable channels that we were looking for (sports, local networks and AMC were our deal breakers).

Sling, if you want a comparable selection and DVR, was by far the most expensive and of least quality. Hulu is a little better, and has lots of extra content, a la Netflix. Playstation and Youtube both performed well, have a nice interface and were $45 and $40 respectively, dvr included, and not needing to add any sports package.

Thought I saw Matt on NBC’s coverage of the Derby; but, he was looking down. Surely they didn’t make two of those awful suits.

    • Realme
      11:16 am May 7, 2018 Permalink

That would be the funniest thing ever, if Matt tweeted out his suit beforehand and someone else bought it and wore it to Derby also.

I can’t disagree, we do have a strong “persecution complex”, although I would call it an Us Against the World mentality.
