I’m not upset. I think we’ll have enough guards next year. Plus he once threw up an L.

Antonio….Enjoy your half-empty arenas (except when UK plays vs LSU), no prime-time games, probable coaching change when a better program comes after the coach, your 3-4 years of “development”, and a future career in the NBDL.

Wow, and people wonder why UK gets a bad rep… This is a 17-18 year old kid, knowing that he’s going to get playing time at LSU and gets to play with a future NBA player in Simmons and a future in the NBDL sure beats sitting behind a desk all day…

BUT BUT BUT…WORLDWIDE WES!!! NIKE SHOES!!! CALISLEAZY!!! Where is the UofL fan outcry now compared to when he decommitted from them after 11 days (lol)?

It’ll make the SEC stronger, so i’m fine with it. With Simmons and Blakeney, LSU can make some noise next year and give us an in-conference challenger.

He never had any serious interest in UK nor UK in him. He decommitted from UL to play at LSU with his buddy.

I never got the feeling that he was too serious about UK but rather when he got the offer, he needed to check it out. He’s good friends with Ben Simmons and as other people have already pointed out, he’ll get immediate playing time at LSU. Between Booker, Matthews, possibly the return of Aaron Harrison and possibly the addition of Malik Newman, that’s not a lot of PT to go around at the SG spot. Best of luck to him. LSU is gonna be very good next year, especially if Jordan Mickey or Jarrell Martin returns.

I had forgotten he was a Card de-commit. Cal was only recruiting him to pizz Rick off!

No Final 4 in Blakeney’s future but if you get to shoot 25 times he can watch from his couch.

CD38 and BMT, playing time?? If you’re good enough playing time isn’t gonna be an issue!! If you’re good enough you will play for Cal regardless who you are. We are witnessing that right now!

Yes playing time matters to most 18 year olds, not many kids want to play only 20 mins a game, I know we are witnessing it now but not everyone can be convinced to give up shots and mins.

As cd38 said, yes, the platoon system seems to be working right now but it only works when you have players who are willing to give up time/opportunities for the greater good of the team. We’re fortunate to have players who are willing, thus far anyway, to do just that. However, not every 5 star recruit is going to feel like that kind of system serves them best and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Wish him the best at LSU in all games except when he plays UK. Can’t fault a guy for wanting to stay at home and play. Isn’t that what we’re hoping Damien Harris will do. LSU looks to be putting together a competitive team for the years to come. That’s good for the conference.

We should be fine if we get some returning guards from this year’s team, add Brisco and Matthews, and possibly Malik Newman. Go SEC.. Go UK!

chill out & embrace it folks. we need competition . embrace it & make SEC Basketball worthy & it ain’t james

He watched the game last week and realized the Harrison Twins were coming back. So he ended it early and committed to LSU. Look BBN I know we love the twins. But with them back in the fold, that leaves a clutter of guards. We all know the twins need they’re minutes! So I doubt even Newman comes.

LSU is going to be really good when he gets there too, they have the #1 guy already committed.

Glad to see the SEC (outside of UK & Fla) get some good recruits.
