Another day, another high-profile transfer receives a waiver to play immediately in 2020.
Tuesday’s news comes from the ACC where Notre Dame transfer Phil Jurkovec has been cleared to play for Boston College this fall. The former blue chip quarterback transferred in January and will have three seasons of eligibility. Judging by the announcement video, folks are pretty excited.

The Pennsylvania native was the No. 83 overall player in the 2018 recruiting class, 34 spots behind Kentucky’s Joey Gatewood. Jurkovec spent two seasons in South Bend as Ian Book’s backup before ultimately seeking out greener pastures. The odds-on favorite to quarterback Jeff Hafley’s first team, Jurkovec can seek out vengeance this season when Notre Dame travels to Boston College.
Will Joey Gatewood still get a shot at revenge against Auburn? The Tigers may no longer be on the schedule (it’s anyone’s guess right now) but it’s looking clearer than ever that he’ll follow in the footsteps of many other quarterbacks and receive a waiver to play football for Kentucky this fall.
