Amy McGrath will face Mitch McConnell in the Kentucky Senate race in November.
State Representative Charles Booker made a late surge in the Democratic primary race, winning Fayette and Jefferson Counties (Jefferson by 30,000 votes), but it wasn’t enough to overcome McGrath’s lead in the rest of the state. The Associated Press has called the race in her favor, and Joe Sonka is reporting that McGrath is currently up about 12,000 votes, 45% to Booker’s 43%, with roughly 9% of precincts left.
You can see the county-by-county results on the Kentucky State Board of Elections website. Counties in green are McGrath, counties in blue green are Booker.
